Eden Prairie United Methodist Church: Our Reconciling Journey

Empowered by God's love, we are a community of Christ's disciples, centered in worship and fellowship with:
Open Hearts to live and serve with compassion and to share God's love
Open Minds to seek spiritual formation and encourage each person's faith journey
Open Doors to invite and welcome all to join in discipleship
Each year, we celebrate Rainbow Sunday. This year's celebration is October 11, during our "B.E. L.O.V.E" sermon series. "V" is for Value the Vulnerable, incorporating John 15:1-7 and Luke 7:36-39.
As a Reconciling congregation, Eden Prairie United Methodist Church has accepted and responded to Jesus’ challenge to love our neighbors. We will:
United Methodist churches and groups which adopt public statements welcoming all persons as full participants in their church life, regardless of sexual orientation become Reconciling Congregations, that then strive to realize this welcome statement in their ministries. Reconciling Ministries Network is a national network of churches, groups and individuals who support each other in their Christian ministry of witness and outreach.
Since 1984, the Reconciling Congregation movement has grown to more than 861 Reconciling Congregations, Campus Ministries and Annual Conferences. It also encompasses over 34,279 Reconciling United Methodists who publicly witness to "open the doors" of the church to the participation of all people, regardless of sexual orientation.
- Be a congregation that welcomes people of all sexual orientations.
- Seek awareness of discrimination and unfairness in the world.
- Educate ourselves and share in prayerful dialogue about social issues and solutions.
- Offer opportunities to move beyond awareness and education into action.
- Pray and work for peace and justice
