Crouch and Gladys Knight are just a few of the stars who have called
Libby to be a part of their recording sessions. Libby was also a
member of the Grammy winning, Minneapolis-based gospel group
“Sounds of Blackness” (1985-1995), working as a vocalist as well
as soloist, section leader and vocal coach. Her “Sounds”

Daughters
of Africa,
featuring Thomasina Petrus
[A
production of Mixed Blood Theatre]
A
music-driven history of African American women, celebrated and overlooked.
This production chronicles the life of African women from slave ship
survivors to stars of the silver screen.
Written by Twin Cities playwright and columnist Syl Jones, Daughters
of Africa is an eye-opening celebration of the triumph of pride,
determination and courage.
Highlighted
are events/ music from the lives of Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Rosa Parks,
Oprah Winfrey, Aretha Franklin, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Ida B.
Wells and others.
This play does not pretend to chronicle all of the profound and
important moments in the history of African American women.
It is an effort to capture the drama, joy, pathos, and
accomplishments, both recognized and unsung, that have
long been part of their lives.
This
forty-five minute play is an informative and very entertaining production
that will stimulate an interesting conversation.
The
play will be followed by a discussion and refreshments.

King’s Dream”

dignity and
humanity of this most remarkable American leader.

A vivid
and dynamic portrayal of why Dr. King is one of the most influential
people in American history. Mr. Bowles portrayal is drawn almost entirely
from Dr. King's books, sermons, letters and speeches.

of choral music and performing that music with sensitivity and
musicality. The chorus membership is open to all young people in grades
three through eight with unchanged voices who subscribe to this
philosophy. The goals of the Rapid City Children’s Chorus, Ltd., are to
provide opportunities for each member to develop good choral techniques
and behavior, stage presence and confidence, by positive response to
direction at rehearsals and performances, practicing between rehearsals
and performing in a variety of situations. The aim of the Rapid City
Children’s Chorus, Ltd., is to be recognized as an outstanding example
of a quality educational,
choral
performing group.

Under
the direction of Leanne Kampfe, the Minnetonka Concert Choir is a
performing, touring and preparatory ensemble for
girls in grades 6 through 8. Annually, the Concert choir performs 10-12 concerts ,
attends two choir camps, and tours nationally. The choir performs
