“Part two” of our Visioning plan has taken form as a “Sacred Space Ministry Team” made up of individuals from the church whose task is to focus on exploring the relationship between our congregation’s stated identity and our functional identity. In other words, does the current building’s design and character support us in accomplishing the goals for ministry that we set forth in the vision document? Or does our space inhibit us from fully accomplishing our ministry goals?

 The Sacred Space Team will lead us in a process of evaluation, examination, and conversation. This process will include surveys, small focus group conversations, walking tours of the sacred space (both inside and outside) and church gatherings to help us discern through prayer and conversation where God is calling us to be in ministry with our sacred space.  Our initial step is this survey.

 The Sacred Space Ministry Team has developed a timeline of actions that will take about 12 to 18 months as the discernment phase. This experience of discernment will engage all of us: members, regular attendees, youth, children and visitors in a holy conversation with God and each other. Scripture, prayer and the leadership of the Sacred Space Ministry Team will guide us.

 We would appreciate your taking three to five minutes to answer this short survey, meant to help us focus the task to those things most important to the congregation.  We would appreciate immediate return (today) if you are able to do so; if you wish additional time, please return the survey to us as soon as possible - at the latest, before the end of June - so we may remain on a reasonable time line with our ministry work.
