Permanent Trust Fund

The Prairie Church Trust Fund was established in 1998 to receive gifts which strengthen the mission and ministries of Eden Prairie United Methodist Church. Since inception, the Church has received three separate donations in the approximate amount of $120,000. Funds received are invested and administered in the support of activities that are outside the needs and programs normally funded by the operating budget of the Church.

What are the Permanent Trust current Funds?

Basic Human Needs Fund

This Fund was established by an anonymous gift from a Church member. The gift was $62,211. The financial gift’s purpose is to help provide hope and encouragement for those unable to find services or financial assistance from available agencies or groups. These gifts are provided to people in need on a non-recurring basis.

Parish Health Education Fund

This fund was established in December, 2002 by Pastor Loren Grage and his wife, Connie Grage in memory of their daughter, Elizabeth Grage. The fund was established with an initial donation of $6,688. The investment income from this fund is used annually to provide a speaker on eating disorders and mental health issues. The Parish Health Ministries Team helps with funding and with scheduling a speaker.

Evangelism Outreach Fund

This fund was created in November, 2006 through a gift from the Kinney Trust established by John and Myrtle Kinney. They were the parents of Jane Wilson. Jane and Tom Wilson were members of the Church. The original gift was in the amount of $44,239.10. “The donors have suggested that the money be used to engage and support the congregation of Eden Prairie United Methodist Church in personally responding to Christ’s call to share the good news of God’s love. A good example of such an outreach ministry is the Music and Fine Arts Series.”
