This Ministry supports a number of community and faith based programs:

• Simpson has an emergency men’s shelter located at:

Simpson United Methodist Church

2740 First Ave S

Minneapolis, MN 55408

• Our church serves dinner nine times a year, usually once month to 75-85 men. 
  One member from Social Action coordinates the meals & serving for the evening.

• We serve a complete meal.  We ask the congregation for donations of:

13 hot dishes

3 large bags of salads & dressing

4 jars of pickles & olives

6 dozen rolls

4 desserts to each serve 24 people

6 gallons of milk

Money donations for other serving items

• We usually have 9 people besides the coordinator to help serve at the shelter.

• Serving one evening requires about 3-4 hours of your time.

• At the shelter we heat the food; set the tables with silverware, napkins, salt & pepper; set up tables for serving food; serve the food and clean up after.

• Before we start to serve we say a group prayer for all those we are serving; all that have prepared the food & those that are serving the food at the shelter.
